Counseling & Volunteer Work

Let's do it Greece

On Sunday morning our school and many of our friends volunteered and took part in Let’s Do it Greece. Parents ,children and many residents of our city , met at the Railway Station  Park. Everyone had a smile on their face and a common goal. Now our park is clean!

We cleaned, picked up the rubbish and leaves, cleaned the playground and the signs with graffiti . Most of the rubbish was cigarette butts, plastic food wrappers, but we were very surprised when our volunteers found a gas can and some sharp objects, in a park where children and teenagers play.

When we finished cleaning , we also played games , had a treasure hunt and did sport activities.

We promised that we would all make a change and symbolically each of us tied a ribbon on a tree branch!

Discovering our cultural heritage

On Thursday, November 7th, 2019, thirty students from the Bougas Elementary School, in collaboration with our teachers Christina Lalea and Yiannis Plagos, as part of our school’s volunteer activities, took a tour of the historic center of Kalamata with Mr. Elias Bitsani, journalist-researcher, researcher and author of our local history, with the aim of “discovering” unknown to us cultural monuments of our city.

It was a special experience, because we discovered unknown aspects of where we are in our daily lives.

We thank Mrs Bitsanis for our unprecedented guided tour. And our journey continues …
